Cemetery of the Defenders of Lwów, Lviv, Ukraina
Cemetery of the Defenders of Lviv Military memorial and burial place of Polish people and their allies who died in a historical and tragic fight in Lviv during the war (Polish-Ukrainian and Polish-Soviet wars in 1918-1920.) The complex is part of the historic Łyczakowski Cemetery in the city of Lviv. There are about 3,000 graves in this part of the cemetery; some of the young volunteers of the Lviv Orlik Militia (sounds right like“Białe Orliki”), from which this part of the cemetery is named. It was one of the most famous necropolises in the interwar period. After the fall of communism, the cemetery is constantly being rebuilt and renovated and is still one of the main tourist attractions of Lviv.
