New Bateen Cemetery, (Abu Dhabi UAE )
The primary function of a Muslim cemetery is no different from that of other cemeteries. The most important feature of a Muslim cemetery, unlike others, is that it must be outside the boundaries of the agglomeration of residence. It is also important that the area is fenced so that animals cannot enter the cemetery. New Bateen Cemetery, the resting place of many of Abu Dhabi's royal family, is located in the northern part of the city. The territory is heavily guarded and hardly anyone has access. As the country is quite young, all the tombstones are no more than around 60 years old.
