Northern Cemetery in Minsk, Belarus ( Paŭnočnyja Mohilki)
The largest northern Orthodox cemetery in Minsk and probably in the All of Belarus. It opened in three phases: in 1972, 1999 and 2004 and is divided into three parcels of land between the highways. The cemetery has a limited purpose. Accompanying burials with coffins and urns are possible, as well as burials in the zone of honorary graves by order of the Minsk City Executive Committee. There is an outdoor columbarium and a lawn for burying urns. It covers an area of about 100 hectares. The territory contains the graves of the Heroes of the Soviet Union, military leaders, cultural and art workers. In the necropolis, next to the crematorium, there is an Orthodox church reminiscent of the architecture of East Slavic churches.
