Rookwood Cemetery in Lidcombe, Australia

Australia is one of the largest countries in the world that lies on the Australian continent and one of the largest cities in Australia, the most famous is Sydney. Right there, in the suburbs, is Rookwood Cemetery, one of the oldest necropolises. This is a huge cemetery in the western suburbs of Sydney Rookwood. The cemetery was established in 1868, 17 km west of the city's business center. The area of the necropolis is about 300 ha and has over a million graves, making it one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. The shape and location of cemeteries has always been influenced by religious traditions and other views. The cemetery consists of several parts of different denominations; Christian, Muslim, Jewish, etc. Chapels for religious rituals and a crematorium with a columbarium were built on the site. The Anglican section (31 ha) is separated by a canal.
